LIBRARY

Every campus or university has a library. Library is one of place where is there are many books about science, sociology, mathematic, language, novel, and the other. At there, we can read everything what we want to read, up to us. Library is an attempt to maintain and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the teaching-learning process. Libraries are well organized and systematic manner, directly or indirectly, to provide facilities for teaching and learning in schools where the library is located. This is, related to the advancement of education and the improvement of teaching and learning method that is felt can’t be separated from the problem of providing the facilities and educational facilities.

A library is organized for use and maintained by a public body, an institution, a corporation, or a private individual. Public and institutional collections and services may be intended for use by people who choose not to—or cannot afford to—purchase an extensive collection themselves, who need material no individual can reasonably be expected to have, or who require professional assistance with their research. In addition to providing materials, libraries also provide the services of librarians who are experts at finding and organizing information and at interpreting information needs. Libraries often provide quiet areas for studying, and they also often offer common areas to facilitate group study and collaboration. Libraries often provide public facilities for access to their electronic resources and the Internet. Modern libraries are increasingly being redefined as places to get unrestricted access to information in many formats and from many sources. They are extending services beyond the physical walls of a building, by providing material accessible by electronic means, and by providing the assistance of librarians in navigating and analyzing very large amounts of information with a variety of digital tools.

IAIN Surakarta also has a library. The location is between laboratory building and Pasca Sarjana building. IAIN Surakarta’s library concerned 2 floors. In the first floor, there are many stands like locker, Bridge, Javanese area, and there are many kind of book. There are books about novel, language, religion, technology, science and so on in the first floor. In there, we can borrow one or two books. In the first floor, the AC is refreshing the guest so we can enjoy and stay along to read at there.

In the second floor, we can see many theses at there. The thesis is from English department or religion department. If we are seventh semester we can borrow the thesis to make our references when we will arrange the thesis to. Library IAIN is good place to read a long time up to us.
